Front Range Economics is a newsletter where I use economics as a lens to explain what is happening in Denver and Colorado and share my perspective on it. Topics I’ll write about include housing, the restaurant industry, regulation, manufacturing, or whatever else is of interest that week. A quick word about who I am. I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at Metropolitan State University of Denver. In the classroom, I lean on applications of economics to Denver and Colorado. Students get more out of economics when it helps them make sense of something local like why rents went up. Plus, it’s fun for me to learn more about the economy around me and share it with students. Front Range Economics is an extension of that work. It is the writing I have been doing while preparing lectures, but now I will be publishing it for a different audience. Posting will be steady. At least that is what I hope declaring this publicly will force me to do.
